VITAL Peak Flow Meter
Captures crucial PEF and FEV1 patient readings
The VITAL Peak Flow Meter is a FDA-certified Class II device that manually captures a person’s maximum speed of expiration, or Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF). This measures the airflow through the throat and looks at the degree of obstruction in the airways. The VITAL Peak Flow Meter also measures the maximum amount of air that is exhaled in one second or Forced Expiratory Volume (FEV1). Patients can also manually enter their PEF or FEV1 readings through a simple user interface. Being aware of your PEF and FEV1 is so important in order to keep track of your condition for any changes. The VITAL Peak Flow Meter can detect changes in your airways before you would be able to notice yourself.
To use the VITAL Peak Flow Meter, turn the device on, blow into the mouthpiece of the device until it can get an accurate reading, about 2 full seconds. Once you have your measurements you can have them reviewed by your clinician. These readings can be verified by clinicians and doctors through the VITAL MeVi app. The VITAL Peak Flow Meter has a battery life of about one year with an average of 6 blows a day.
The VITAL Peak Flow Meter allows you to collect important measurements regarding your breathing quality from wherever you are. The Peak Flow Meter is able to be transmitted to other VITAL telehealth apps and components to be viewed by your healthcare provider. Using the VITAL Peak Flow Meter allows you to stay up to date with the progress of your health conditions and provides you with information you may not have known otherwise.
